Hasan Fardan Al Fardan

Hasan Fardan Al Fardan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Richmond American University, London, with a specialisation in Finance and a minor in economics. Hasan also holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the University of Reading, Henley Business School, UK – a globally renowned real estate program. From there, he was recruited to the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund as a real estate analyst at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). As a real estate analyst, this exposed him to complex global deals involving multiple geographies and regulators in India, Korea, Japan, China, and the UK. In addition, given the strong corporate governance structures in place as a sovereign wealth fund and ADIA’s corporate separateness mandate, Hasan held directorships of many holding companies in jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands, Delaware, Jersey, Hong Kong, and Luxembourg. Hasan returned to restructure the family business in 2018 as the Al Fardan Group CEO, creating a new ADGM corporate structure and the Al Fardan Family Trust. This structure created several companies that Hasan is on board, including AFG PTC RSC Limited, AFG Holding and all the Alfardan Group trading businesses. In 2020 he assumed the leadership role as Chief Executive Officer of Al Fardan Exchange. Since taking over this role, Hasan has recruited a new c-suite team, introduced enhanced corporate governance, and played a vital role in the digital transformation of the business with a focus on enhancing efficiencies and growing the digital revenue streams. As a subject matter expert in fintech, Hasan also represents Al Fardan Exchange as the chairman of the Fintech sub-committee of the UAE exchange houses association, the Foreign Exchange & Remittance Group (FERG). In addition to his role as the CEO of Al Fardan Exchange Hasan is a director of Ajyad Capital B.S.C. a Bahrain investment company. He is also the Vice Chairman of GSCS Group of companies and Fardan Al Fardan Holdings. Hasan also is frequently consulted by various regulators and government entities in the UAE regarding regulations and special projects pertaining to payments and financial crime compliance. He is also a regular speaker at fintech and other digital payments events worldwide.
