Leonard Makuvaza is a Technical Specialist at the International Fund for Agricultural Development’s Financing Facilities for Remittances (FFR). Leonard leads the implementation of the FFR’s projects on payments systems development across Southern Africa. He has also worked extensively on financial inclusion projects including leading and market diagnostics across Africa. Under the PRIME Africa project aimed at maximising the development impact of remittances in receive markets, Leonard has provided technical expertise in the Southern Africa remittance market diagnostic and the National Remittance Market Roadmap which has informed IFAD’s interventions in the region. Leonard also provides oversight on private sector financing projects implemented by IFAD in Southern and West Africa.
