Márcio ESTRELA – economist, with MBA in finance – is a former Chief of Staff at the BCB’s Board of Governors (Brazilian Central Bank). From 2018 to 2020 his participation on discussions regarding Foreign Exchange and Financial Regulations – including Fintech, Open Finance, Crypto Assets and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) –; national and international payment systems – RTP/PIX, Payments Industry, Local Currency International Payment System –; Licensing; correspondent banks; and International
Affairs was at BCB’s highest level: the Board of Governors.

After retiring from BCB, based on his 26 years of experience in Brazilian Central Bank (BCB), he has opened a consulting company where he is the Owner and Chief Consultant: “Starnet Estrela – Consulting & Training”, a consultancy specializing in Foreign Exchange and Financial Regulations – including Fintech, Open Finance, Crypto Assets and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) –; national and international payment systems – RTP/PIX, Payments Industry, Local Currency International Payment System –; Licensing; correspondent banks; and International Affairs.

Márcio ESTRELA is a technical adviser at ABRACAM and is also delivering national and international consulting services to financial market representative associations, financial institutions, and investors (including investment funds) on all these subjects.
