Veeran is the Managing Director and Founder of Merchantrade Asia Sdn Bhd (“Merchantrade”), Malaysia’s largest and leading money services business operator. Merchantrade’s current business pillars are remittance, currency exchange, e-wallet, payment gateway, micro insurance and prepaid mobile. He is instrumental in attracting and onboarding large and reputable institutions as Merchantrade’s shareholders. Merchantrade has operations in Malaysia and Singapore, with over 1000 employees. Ramasamy is one of the founding members of the Malaysian Association of Money Services Business (MAMSB). He is also a former President of the MAMSB for 2 consecutive terms. His vision for Merchantrade, to lead as a provider of inclusive, affordable and accessible financial services to the unserved segments. He continues to assume direct management responsibilities and plays a significant role in Merchantrade’s day to day operations.
