IAMTN CEO meets with Kuwait Finance Minister Bader Mishari Al-Humaidhi

Lady Olga Maitland, CEO, IAMTN met with the Kuwait Finance Minister H.E. Bader Mishari Al-Humaidhi last week at the First Kuwait Global Forum in Brussels.

In their meeting they discussed Kuwait's key geo-political and economical role in the Gulf - positioned as it is as the gateway to the Mediterranean.

In particular lady Olga raised the fact that Kuwait is among the top five remittance senders in the Middle East with a vibrant ex-patriot workforce at all levels participating in the rapid development of a diversified economy.

Of the total population which is around 3. - 3.5 million people, roughly two thirds ie 2.-2.5 residents are foreigners. Of these the largest number are Egyptians followed by Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Filipino and Sri Lankan residents. European nationals form a much smaller percentage.

Says Lady Olga,"This in turn means a vibrant money transfer market. I discussed this with His Excellency. I also offered the invitation for the Minister to address the Dubai Global Consumer Money Transfer conference on April 28th. It is to be hoped his schedule will permit him to be with us."
