The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and Developing Markets Associates Ltd (DMA) are pleased to announce that they will be partnering on an AusAID and NZAID led initiative to reduce the cost of remittances from Australia and New Zealand to South Pacific Island nations.

A new analysis by Juniper Research forecasts that Service Provider revenues, derived from mobile money transfer services and remittances, will exceed $5bn globally by 2013 -- based on the commissions and charges that they will acquire from the gross value of money transactions made, both domestically within countries and internationally.

Serious Organised Crime Agency and West Yorkshire Police visit to money service businesses in Bradford raises some questions
A co-ordinated operation on 14th - 16th July 2008 led by the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and West Yorkshire Police saw visits to more than 40 money transfer businesses in the city. The initiative was done with the aim of causing little interference as possible to those who were visited so that they could carry on trading.
