Grupo Vimenca Agreement Extends Western Union's Presence in Dominican Republic

Grupo Vimenca, a privately held financial services group in the Dominican Republic, signed a 10-year agreement with Western Union to continue their 18-year business relationship. The group offers consumers global money transfer services through Western Union, in addition to banking, mortgage, business-to-business call center services, and travel and mobile offerings. The deal involves 205 Western Union agent locations in the Dominican Republic, which the company called a “key strategic market” for them. The Latin American and Caribbean markets are important for Western Union, making the Dominican a small but integral piece in their business.
